File Dividers

Today I thought my files dividers are getting really worn out and unflattering so I decided to make my own for my folders! Have a look in the folders below! I just used really decorative scrapbook paper!

Shoe Box Makeover

This is an old shoe box which has been lying in the cupboard and thought it needs a makeover. I am thinking of covering it which fabric as I am going through a fabric covering craft stage!

Materials needed are:
- Shoe Box
- Fabric (I used two different pieces of fabric)
- Fabric Cutters
- Fabric Cutting Board
- Adhesive Spray
- White Paper

You need to cover the shoe box with white paper so that when you cover the box with fabric, the pattern of the box won't show through.

Ensure you cover the inside of the box also!

Cut and measure your fabric for the inside of the box. I used this light coloured fabric for inside and used the adhesive spray to stick the fabric down. Use your other fabric or the same fabric for the outside of the box. Make sure you measure it before sticking it down. I did the opposite fabrics for the lid of the shoe box as shown in the pictures below.

It turned out very well. I am propably going to put this box next to my printer to store little gadgets.
Any questions feel free to ask. Happy crafting :)

Fabric Folder

Folder in Fabric

Here is an awesome idea I found off Pinterest and I decided to make one myself. I found an old folder which I thought I'd try this on!

Materials needed
- Colourful fabric (Match the fabric to the area the folders will be kept! Mine will be kept in an aqua blue coloured room!)
- Old folder
- Adhesive spray
- Fabric cutters or scissors
- Paper
- File labels
- Iron
- Cutting board
- Scissors, ruler and a pencil
- Super glue

First thing you'll need to do is cut out your fabric big enough to cover your folder! Leave 2 cm around each side of the folder like in the picture below! Remember to iron your fabric smooth! You will also need a small strip of fabric to go in the centre of your folder! (NOTE - if your fabric is a little seathrough then you may need to cover your folder with white paper before putting on the fabric!)

Now that your have the right size of the thin strip of material, use the adhesive spray to stick it down! Remember to stick the side of material you don't want to see to the folder! Spray adhesive spray to the rest of the fabric on the wrong side to stick to the folder! Remember to smooth out the fabric so there are no bubbles!

You will need to use some pretty paper to put on the inside of your folder. I used some white shiney scrapbooking paper as it is big enough for a large folder. I used the adhesive spray to stick the paper to the folder.

Your folder is almost finished. Now you just need to use some super glue to stick on the folder lable. I used a small piece of that white shiney scrapbook paper to slide into the lable.

All done and looking excellent! I might do most of my folders like this to make them similar and look so much better in my cupboard.
